This will work for 1986 and below, the 2 link is for 700R4 transmissions. Doing these two mods will remove:ESC and wiring through the firewall, EGR, EGR bleed solenoid and wiring, two TVS (thermal vacuum switches) and 99% of the hard/ rubber vacuum lines. I think we are talking about the same thing, that is, the vacuum ball located by the fuel vapor canister. Seems like there should be a one-way valve in it, too. You don't want to lose vacuum as soon as you shut off the engine. The transmission modulator should be hooked up to the same sort of vacuum, but it doesn't need a valve in the line. It's usually hooked up to the fitting in the intake manifold behind the carb.
